OH CANADA!

We had a wonderful weekend in Canada. This is the line - on one side, our marriage is now fully recognized.

Here's where it started - Stratford's city hall.

The judge was great - she explained everything. Oh - and everything said applicant, co-applicant, spouse. It is the official Canadian marriage license ... and nowhere does it mention gender. Here we are taking the oath. Actually, in this photo, the judge is defining several words for us.

The license....

The night before ... we went out to dinner to a restaurant (the Sun Room) with a gluten free menu. The owner saw the city hall envelope and asked us, "When's the big day?" At the end of the night she surprised us with all of their gluten free desserts, candles, and singing.

We were married on a little island on the River Avon ...

and back at the B&B had a champagne toast ....

and gluten free cake!

We had dinner at the Church Restaurant - we had the post-modern tasting menu with wine pairings. The meal started out with dragon oolong tea shooters. the chef bringing out a thing of liquid nitrogen and a frothy oolong tea mixture. He dropped balls of the froth into the liquid nitrogen, froze them, drained them and handed them to us. We put them in our mouth, bit down, and then exhaled the nitrogen out of our noses (look closely below). The meal got more bizarre from there (virtual lentils, cobb salad revisited, etc.).
