SOLD!

About a month ago, we received an offer on the house. Within 24 hours there was another offer. Then, the first prospective buyer made a better offer. Yes, after eight months on the market, we had finally dropped the price enough.

It was a short sale ... so, it took the bank a bit longer to process the sale. It wasn't really clear until Thursday that the sale would be approved and the paper work ready. We needed to get four forms notarized. It turns out that notary means something different here. They are more like a lawyer. They notarize things at some crazy price .... several hundred dollars per document. So, we drove to Plattsburgh, New York, where our forms were notarized for free.

On Friday, we closed the sale. We received many congratulations ... including one very thoughtful (and artistic) drawing.

So long 507 Forest.

  1. Yea! What a relief! Now when you move back to Columbus you can buy a house closer to us!

  2. Congratulations! Does this mean you're going to buy property in Montreal? One wouldn't want to have only one house . . .
